Dear
ARCH Cluster Member Representatives,
The
attached ARCH Issues Bulletin has been
developed to respond to the Reston
Association’s (RA) request for public
comment regarding their upcoming referendum
to finance and expend up to $15,000,000 to
purchase a headquarters building.
The current RA headquarters lease
expires in early spring of 2010.
The
ARCH Issues Bulletin-- to be offered as
testimony at this Thursday’s, 5 Feb,
public hearing-- raises issues that ARCH
believes should be clarified/addressed and
identifies possible changes to the
referendum wording.
Based
on comments received-- from ARCH and other
organizations/individuals at the public
hearing-- the RA Board will then meet, on 9
Feb, to finalize their referendum question.
Reston Association ballots-- seeking
RA Member approval for the purchase-- will
be mailed to households on or about 23 Feb.
I
urge you to circulate this Issues Bulletin
with your neighbors and attend this
Thursday’s public hearing, at 7:00 PM at
the Reston Association, to offer your input.
This is a major proposed capital
expense for RA that proposes significant
changes from a similar referendum that was
put before the members on this subject four
years ago.
ARCH
will monitor this initiative closely and
expects to issue a second Issues Bulletin
for our members once a referendum question
is finalized.
Sincerely,
GERALD
R. VOLLOY, President
Alliance
of Reston Clusters and Homeowners
