Reston
Association
Headquarters Referendum
Should
the Reston Association Board of Directors be authorized to
finance and expend, as determined by the Board of Directors, an
amount not to exceed $15,000,000 to purchase a commercial office
building or condominium space, or interest therein, or, in the
alternative, to purchase property and to construct a building
thereon for future use as the Association’s headquarters?
ARCH
does not believe that the Reston Association, to date, has made
the case to justify authorizing nearly double the space and
triple the cost on a new Headquarters.

ARCH
Letter to the Reston Association, April 2, 2009
Stop,
look, and listen before making a final decision on a new
headquarters...
-
Stop
- to take the time needed to openly and transparently put
together a cost-impact statement and credible,
professional space analysis and design that can gain wide
community support;
-
Look
- at all possibilities: lease, build, and buy;
-
Listen
-
to the community and involve it so that what results has a
broad base of support.
