IC Members

One of ARCH's
foundational principles is to create a means of assessing local
community issues of importance to our Members in a politically
nonpartisan way, and determine how, if at all, ARCH might constructively
participate in the debate on those issues and/or educate our members so
they can.
The committee is appointed by,
and is accountable to, ARCH's Board of Directors, which must ratify any
IC recommendation before it can be carried out.
The Issues
Committee Charter has
been carefully drafted to ensure the IC considers issues in a fair,
open-minded, and politically nonpartisan manner; its sole mandate is to
assess whether an issue is of concern to our Members and, if so,
recommend how, if at all, ARCH should address that issue for the benefit
of our Members.
That may mean taking no action
at all; it may sponsoring a "town meeting" to inform our
Members, or providing a summary of the key issues and viewpoints pro and
con; or it may mean advocating a specific position that is clearly in
the best interests of the majority of our Membership. The bottom line is
to provide an effective way for our Members to become better informed
about key local issues affecting them, and to improve our collective
ability to participate in the important dialogue with local, County, and
State leaders who will be making the decisions.

SUGGESTIONS WELCOME
ARCH's sole charter is to work on behalf of
the members it serves. Consequently, the ARCH Board is interested in
those issues you, our members, believe ARCH should be addressing. Please
feel free to make your own suggestions in that regard here. All
suggestions will be kept confidential, and will be referred to the ARCH
Issues Committee for consideration. We appreciate your contribution. We
hope we continue to earn your support.
