ARCH is chartered as a non-profit "Social Welfare Organization, to be operated exclusively to promote social welfare, primarily to further the common good and general welfare of the people of the community, such as by bringing about civic betterment and social improvements." Our primary focus is to support the leaders of homeowner groups better manage and improve their respective neighborhoods. Our potential constituency represents the majority of Reston Homeowners in all 5 Reston "Villages", and by helping improve Reston one neighborhood at a time; we contribute to the goal of making Reston great place to live, work and play. ARCH also shall act to ensure the leaders of all of Reston’s neighborhoods, and in turn their residents, are aware of relevant community issues, and are able to effectively and constructively participate in the community dialogue and decision making. We will do so in a non-partisan and objective manner, seeking in good faith to identify and consider all the relevant viewpoints associated with that issue. As such, we may add to the breadth and magnitude of Reston’s voice in important community issues. In this regard we endorse and support the benefit of having a forum that brings together the perspective of Reston’s homeowners, for our local, county, and state leaders as they consider the choices facing our mature, mixed-use community. To further this important community role, ARCH is committed to an outreach policy, creating a dialogue and links to other organizations and community leaders below:
