How to Join ARCH

ARCH is open to all Reston homeowner associations, single family homeowners who have organized or are interested in organizing their neighborhoods and any individual resident not part of such a group.

ARCH Geographic Coverage
ARCH serves the entire area commonly known as Reston, including the areas that are part of the Reston Master Plan and Small Tax District # 5. This includes all 5 geographic districts of Reston: Hunters Woods/Dogwood, Lake Anne/Tall Oaks, North Point, South Lakes and Town Center.

Categories of Members:

  1. GENERAL MEMBERS: ARCH is formed primarily to support the leaders of homeowner groups. These homeowner groups will be the General Members of ARCH. ARCH General Membership extends to any Reston townhouse/condominium association, or organized groups of neighboring single-family homes.

  2. ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: There will also be individuals interested and willing to join ARCH that reside in associations that do not choose to join ARCH, or are not part of any such group. We recognize these individuals may have valuable experience, a desire to serve ARCH and the community, and the essential grass-roots energy we desire. Therefore, ARCH includes an Associate Member category to include all such individuals who want to join and support ARCH programs and initiatives.

Annual Dues: ARCH is a grassroots organization that depends on Member involvement and expertise. Therefore the annual budget is expected to be minimal.

1. General Members:
     In Fiscal Year 2008 (July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008), dues have been reduced to $35 the first year for General Membership, and $25 a year thereafter.

2. Associate Members pay Annual Dues of $12.50.

How to Join ARCH

1. General Member - Homeowner Association:
Any legally-constituted Homeowners or Condominium Association may join when Association Board of Directors adopts a resolution to join ARCH. To facilitate this, the board may use or adapt the Board Resolution prepared by ARCH.

2. General Member - informal homeowners group: Any group comprised of at least ten (10) individual homeowners located in a recognizable neighborhood within Reston, provided:

  1. Such group is not located within an existing homeowners association described in (1) above and;

  2. The group submits a valid Petition signed by at least 10 members of the group.

3. Associate Member - An individual homeowner in Reston that does not reside in a group that has been accepted for membership in ARCH may join by completing the Application for Associate Membership in ARCH, when the ARCH Board approves the application.
